St Hugh’s Pickling and Fermentation Society

Pickling President: Carrie O’Toole (she/her)
Vegetable Vice President: Lucy Phillips (she/her)
Tangy Treasurer: Ria Mann (she/her)

After three highly successful terms as somewhat of an underground society, the St Hugh’s Pickling and Fermentation Society wants to go Official this year!

With a range of activities from making home-brewed red onions, to comparing international chutneys; Pickle Soc does it all.

In all seriousness, we have quite a large community of people in Hugh’s who want to:

  • Meet to discuss pickles on a bi-weekly basis
  • Have cheese and pickle pairing nights at least once a term
  • Send photos of international pickling endeavours (and learn about other cultures via pickley exploits)
  • Use the pickling space as a place to relax from academic rigour
  • Meet people in other years and across other subjects
  • Have a community which is a friendly environment for drinkers and non-drinkers alike
  • Continue chatting on the pickling WhatsApp to exchange pickle tips and tricks
